Laser hair removal treatment details
BEFORE APPOINTMENT
- Avoid sun exposure for three days before your appointment.
- For six weeks prior to your appointment, do not tweeze or wax any hair in the area that will be treated.
- Shave within 24 hours to three days of your appointment using a clean, brand-new razor.
DURING APPOINTMENT
- Depending on the area you’re having treated, you will get undressed.
- You will make yourself comfortable on a medical chair.
- You will be provided protective glasses to protect your eyes from the laser beam.
- The area to be treated will be cleansed with wipes.
- Any extra hairs will be shaved.
- The lasering will begin. Your technician will make sure you’re feeling okay as they work.
Numerous patients liken the sensation of laser hair removal to that of a hot rubber band snapping on the skin or a minor pinprick. While the sensation isn’t particularly comfortable, any discomfort is minimal and highly tolerable for most individuals. Additionally, many lasers incorporate a cooling effect to alleviate discomfort during the procedure.
Recovery
Following your laser hair removal treatment, we advise applying aloe vera to any areas that may feel warm or irritated. To ensure proper healing and achieve optimal results, it’s important to avoid the following:
- Extended sun exposure (for a week after treatment)
- Anything that will cause you to sweat, such as exercise, saunas, baths, etc. (for 24 hours after treatment)
- Plucking, tweezing, or waxing out any hairs that you see.
- Other skin treatments (for two weeks after treatment)
- Puncturing the skin in any way
- Hot water (for at least 24 to 48 hours after treatment)
- Makeup or perfume near the treated area (for at least 24 to 48 hours after treatment)
